1. UNDERSTANDING OUR NEED

Every one of us has the same problem: sin. We may try to be good, do better, or fix things on our own, but none of us can make ourselves right with God. We all need Jesus.

Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

2. UNDERSTANDING WHAT SIN COSTS & WHAT GOD GIVES

Sin separates us from the life God created us to have with Him, and its consequence is death. But God does for us what we could never do for ourselves. Instead of leaving us in our sin, He offers us the gift of eternal life through Jesus.

Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

3. UNDERSTANDING GOD’S HEART FOR US

Why would God offer this gift to people who have sinned against Him? Because He loves us. The cross shows us just how far God was willing to go to bring us back to Himself.

Romans 5:8 tells us, “God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Jesus took the penalty for our sin upon Himself. He died in our place so that we could be forgiven, freed from sin, and brought back into a relationship with God.

4. CHOOSING TO FOLLOW JESUS

Salvation isn’t something we earn—it is a gift we receive by putting our faith in Jesus. We believe that He died for our sins and rose again, we confess Him as Lord, and we begin a new life of following Him.

Romans 10:9 says, “If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

John 3:16 says, “For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

You can choose to follow Jesus today. Wherever you are, you can call out to Him, ask Him to forgive your sins, put your faith in what He has done for you, and surrender your life to following Him.
